History of the Library:

Prior to 1985, Storey County library patrons were served by Churchill County Bookmobile, or library cards purchased from neighboring libraries. As a result of the discontinued service, other methods were investigated for supplying library service to county residents. 

 The idea for the public library/high school joint-use facility was first started in 1985, when our current high school was being considered. Plans for the public library were included in the construction of this structure, and on April 29, 1990, the Storey County Public Library was officially dedicated. 

 This joint-use facility allows VCHS students access during the school day to both high school and public holdings. After school hours, both holdings are available to the public.
