Library Information

Book Collection

Over 60,000 books appropriate for adult, young adult and children reading levels can be found in the collection, consisting of popular ficton and non-fiction titles. The library continually adds new titles to the collection and encourages suggestions from patrons regarding popular titles they'd like to see included.

Reference Resources

Materials which include encyclopedias, almanacs, college catalogs, foreign language dictionaries, career information dictionaries, health and medical resources, investment reports, vehicle repair manuals, antique and collectible guides and poetry indexes.

Local and State Information

The library has the Nevada Room which is staffed by an individual able to assist patrons. Resources include complete collections of local newspapers, Nevada Revised Statutes, Humboldt County Code, Winnemucca Municipal Code and a complete collection of books, periodicals and maps pertaining to the state. One of the unique features found in the Nevada Room is the "Local Newspaper Indexing Project" which consists of a comprehensive automated index that can be used in searching for information that has appeared in local newspapers.

Federal Information

IRS tax forms and instruction booklets for personal income tax filing are available. Forms are available in a reproducible format or limited forms and booklets are available for distribution at tax season. Photocopies are available at .15 cents per copy.

Magazines and Newspapers

Over 200 major magazines and newspapers are subscribed to including the Reno Gazette Journal, Humboldt Sun, San Francisco Chronicle, Idaho Statesman, Salt Lake City Tribune, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Sunday edition of the New York Times.

Videocassettes and Audiotapes

A large selection of educational, intructional and cultural videocassettes for adults and children are available as well as a nice selection of popular fiction and non-fiction titles in audiotape format.

Foreign Language Materials

A wide range of materials are available in many formats including storybooks for young children.

Other Available Services

Interlibrary loan, a Meeting room, public typewriter, photocopier, Young Adult and Childrens Programming.
