Portuguese in Nevada

Emigrants who speak Portuguese have long been a part of the diversity of language and culture in Nevada.  Some Portuguese speakers came from Brazil, and found work as sheepherders in the open space of Nevada.  Some came from the Portugal itself, and others were Azorean-Portuguese, bringing customs and festivals they have continued to celebrate in their new homes.
